Comforter Guide
The right comforter
feels right straight away.
Every comforter in the range feels different. This guide helps you find yours — so you can choose with confidence, not guesswork.
Start here
How do you like
your bedding to feel?
“I always feel cold — nothing ever feels warm enough.”
→ Heavy Weight
Designed for this. More warmth and weight than anything else in the range.
“I want to be warm, but I don’t want anything heavy on me.”
→ Original
Warm without feeling heavy. Soft, cosy, and settling — our most chosen comforter.
“I like the feeling of weight and presence in my bedding.”
→ Checkered or Velvet
Both feel more substantial on the body. Checkered is textured; Velvet is smooth and close.
“I want something soft and warm I can really settle into.”
→ Rabbit
Plush, full, and soft from the first night. Feels good straight away.
“I prefer lighter bedding — cosy without being too warm.”
→ All Seasons
Light and easy on the body. No overthinking — just soft, everyday comfort.
“I’ve never used a comforter before. Where do I start?”
→ Original
The safe starting point. Warm, easy to sleep under, and chosen by the widest range of sleepers.
Compare the range
Not good → better → best.
Just different.
We compare three things — because warmth alone doesn’t tell you how a comforter actually feels to sleep under.
Snuggle Fleece
All Seasons
Light, easy everyday comfort
Best for
Warmer sleepers, warmer months, or anyone who prefers lighter bedding that still feels cosy.
Snuggle Fleece

Anyone wanting genuine winter warmth without a heavy feel. Warm without feeling heavy — feels right from the first night.
Snuggle Fleece
Checkered
Cosy weight with a textured feel
Best for
Sleepers who like the feeling of weight — and bedding that looks considered as well as feeling it.
Velvet Collection
Velvet
Smooth, warm and cocooning
Best for
Sleepers who want smooth, close warmth — and love the look of velvet on the bed.
Rabbit Collection
Rabbit
Plush warmth you can really sink into
Best for
Cold sleepers who want something plush, warm, and full. Soft, cosy, and settling — feels good from the first night.
Snuggle Fleece
Heavy Weight
Extra warmth for seriously cold nights
Best for
Those who feel the cold. Designed for everyday use in cold climates or cold bedrooms — reliable warmth, every night.
Worth knowing
Why heavier doesn’t always
mean warmer.
The Checkered feels heavier than the Original. The Velvet feels denser. But neither is warmer.
With a regular quilt, the fill does all the work — more fill, more warmth. Our comforters are built differently. The outer fabrics trap warmth too. That’s why the Original — with Snuggle fleece on both sides — often feels warmer than a standard quilt of similar fill weight.
A heavier-feeling comforter isn’t always the warmest one. The three scales show you exactly what’s happening — warmth, weight on body, and fluffiness — so you can choose what’s right for you, not just what looks right on paper.
Vs. what you know
No cover. No fuss.
The same warmth.
If you’ve been using a quilt your whole life, here’s what’s different.
A regular quilt or doona
- Requires a separate cover
- The insert can shift inside overnight
- Washing the insert and cover separately takes more effort
- Warmth varies depending on how the insert is sitting
A Morgan & Reid comforter
- No cover needed — pull it up and you’re done
- Fill stays in place — consistent warmth, every night
- Easy to care for — gentle machine wash, tumble dry low
- The same comfort on night one and night one hundred
